WhatsApp didn’t get to a billion active users by ignoring platforms. (Except BB10, even WhatsApp can’t be bothered with BB10 anymore). So,WhatsApp has finally fixed perhaps its most glaring problem and released an official app for desktop.

The company has at last brought its messaging platform to the PC by developing a Software for Windows and Mac users. Previously, it was only possible to chat on a computer by using third-party apps or its web browser.

WhatsApp said that it had introduced the app to let people “stay in touch anytime or anywhere – whether on your phone or computer at home or work”.

Available for Windows (version 8 and up) and Mac OS (version 10.9 and up), the app stays synced with WhatsApp on your mobile device, allowing you to communicate with other WhatsApp users in your list while your handset remains in your pocket.

“Because the app runs natively on your desktop, you’ll have support for native desktop notifications, better keyboard shortcuts, and more.” Head to the Download link below to grab the new app.
