NVIDIA is all set to dominate the world by unleashing their fastest on chip Notebook GPU ever, the GTX 1080 (Mobile graphics) based on the all mighty Pascal architecture embedded in these high performance Notebooks and Laptops collaborated with different manufacturers leaping a huge performance jump outperforming the Maxwell era.
We have previously heard of the rest two cards , the GTX 1060 (Mobile graphics) and GTX 1070 (Mobile graphics) but this time VideoCardZ has posted the benchmarks of the GTX 1080 (Mobile graphics) with some pictures that clearly indicates that GTX 1080 will compete the enthusiast GeForce 10 Mobility lineup performing inside Notebooks and Laptops having more or less the same specifications as the desktop variant.
As you have noticed I have mentioned “(Mobile graphics)” a lot number of times and clearly clarifying the cause being there are now two variants up for the cards – the Desktop variant and another within the Notebooks and laptops , though having the same specs with a little variations in clocks and bus these cards are all set to take the mobile graphics experience to a whole new level.
Speaking of specifications , the GP104 die will be housing 2560 CUDA cores with 160 TMUs and 64 ROPs being the first mobile card to utilize the power of GDDR5X memory clocked at 10Ghz with a bandwidth of 320GB/s and a bus of 256-bit but the chip will be set on a different board not even falling under the standard MXM form as what we have seen from the 980 (Mobile graphics) , (Not 980M) being housed as same.
And to be more in depth we have new MSI comparing the benchmarks which produced some results that concluded that this card is 20% more powerful than the Titan X (Maxwell) and also gave us hint about the MSI Titan gaming laptop going to be released very soon having SLI support.
