As per the rumor suggests AMD’s Ryzen won’t have 6-core variant of CPUs abandoning only 4-cores and 8-cores variants of SKUs as they couldn’t partially dismantle the 4-core ‘Zen-unit’ preventing AMD to manufacture dual core Ryzen chips.

And if we consider this rumor to be true then AMD will only be left with Ryzen CPUs of 4 Cores/ 4 Threads [SMT Disabled] , 4 Cores/ 4 Threads [SMT enabled] , 8 Cores/ 8 Threads and 8 Cores/ 16 Threads.

And thus it will be hard to compete with Intel’s Broadwell-E lineup of i7 6800K and i7 6850K chips as AMD will have no 6-cores variant.
